Michigan native Chani Devers first trained as a photographer in the military. She then earned her BFA in photography at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. With over 20 years of assignments, she has traveled extensively throughout the US and to places like Germany, Sicily, Costa Rica, and Iraq.
Chani draws inspiration from a multitude of subjects ranging from travel and architecture to things not readily seen, such as night skies and photomicrography. She loves combining vintage and modern technologies to achieve a unique aesthetic quality. She has curated photography exhibitions in Detroit, Columbus and Alpena as well as her works published in journals and magazines. Recently, she was an award winner in the Santa Fe Photographic “Summer” contest.
Chani also enjoys working with paints, ceramics, metals and wood. She loves drinking strong coffee, stand up paddling, exploring old buildings, her motorcycle, playing the drums and guitar, and refurbishing her vintage Airstream.
Her work is currently on exhibition in her Urban Wave Gallery in Manistee, MI
